If elektra is the right solution we
should see new projects embracing it. After that happens, you'll start
seeing buyin from the established projects.
How to get more new projects to use it? More language bindings would
definitely help....
You know, this is a chicken-and-egg problem.
Will be easier to new projects to embrace it if Elektra is automatically present in regular distros, and regular distros will only include Elektra if higher level software starts using it.
