Crashes with via_velocity?

Okay, I finally got around to loading FC5 on my Athlon 64 system here.
I first tried the 32 bit install. The install (from local hard drive)
worked fine, but during boot, it got into a cycle of oopses during or
right after network setup. I booted it single user mode and managed to
reproduce the oops.

I then tried a 64 bit install. Again, install worked fine, but it
oopses during network config during boot.

This is an Abit AV8 motherboard with built-in Via gigabit ethernet
(via_velocity). I've also added a Compaq dual 10/100 NIC (two e100
chips behind a DEC PCI bridge). The e100s are eth0 and eth1 and the
via_velocity is eth2. It oopses before configuring eth2 I think, but
the common thing in both 32 and 64 bit oopses is the message "last sysfs
file: /class/net/eth2/address".

I don't speak for anybody but myself - that's enough trouble.
