I have some Dell 5324 network switches. To manage them via web, with firefox or epiphany I get the message "The following browsers are supported : Microsoft Internet explorer 5.5 and above Netscape Version 7.1 and above " I downloaded netscape 7.2 full installer and tried to install it, but I get weird characters in the first window and other ones.... Instead of characters in text and buttons, I get only small rectangles... This is on fc5 x86_64, while the installer is an x86 binary; I don't know if it can make any difference in README file there is for requirements: * glibc - 2.2.4 * gtk+ - 1.2.0 (1.2.5 or later preferred) * XFree86-3.3.6 * Glib 1.2.x so it is quite old (infact netscape 8 is available only for Windows) doing ldd of the installer bin I get: [gcecchi@pevit00 netscape-installer]$ ldd ./netscape-installer-bin (0xffffe000) libgtk-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgtk-1.2.so.0 (0xf7e33000) libgdk-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgdk-1.2.so.0 (0xf7df6000) libgmodule-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgmodule-1.2.so.0 (0xf7df3000) libglib-1.2.so.0 => /usr/lib/libglib-1.2.so.0 (0xf7dc9000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00b99000) libXi.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXi.so.6 (0x0336b000) libXext.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x00101000) libX11.so.6 => /usr/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x00cee000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00bc6000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00b9f000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00a64000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x00a47000) libXau.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXau.so.6 (0x00ded000) libXdmcp.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6 (0x00df2000) while file ./netscape-installer-bin ./netscape-installer-bin: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.2.5, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.2.5, stripped Any hint how to work around with installation or to trick the dell switch to let it think I have netscape...? Any hint on how to use wine eventually in a x86_64 fc5 system?
