It's just now that I receive from http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/fedora-core-$releasever a proper list of mirrors. The problem seems to be solved by not providing a mirrorlist directed to download.fedoraproject.org, which then again redirects, but instead provide the mirrorlist at fedora.redhat.com.
