I didn't say anything about evince, evince sucks too. I can give you pdfs
that xpdf takes a week to render and kdpf renders correctly in 2 seconds.

For example I've got the manual for a Canon camera that has a big "COPY"
sign in the background and that's the only thing evince renders (on all
pages).

Evince/xpdf/gimp and also print (but not view) in kpdf all mess up pdf files
which contain images with transparent backgrounds for one, so no suprises.
Curious how KPDF works on files better when Evince doesnt where both of them use poppler as the underlying library.
