I've got three problems now seen in my testing. 1) Am seeing this at the start of a guest install. ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at include/asm/xor.h:633! invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] SMP Modules linked in: xor raid1 raid0 xennet sr_mod sd_mod scsi_mod cdrom squashfs loop nfs nfs_acl lockd sunrpc vfat fat cramfs CPU: 0 EIP: 0061:[<d10ba7be>] Not tainted VLI EFLAGS: 00010246 (2.6.15-1.1955_FC5guest) EIP is at xor_sse_2+0x1de/0x1ec [xor] eax: 00000000 ebx: 00000000 ecx: 00000000 edx: caf58000 next screen esi: caf55000 edi: 00000000 ebp: 00000000 esp: caf4fde0 ds: 007b es: 007b ss: 0069 Process loader (pid: 145, threadinfo=caf4e000 task=c04661f0) Stack: <0>00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 d10bc5ac 00000000 d10b9b13 00001000 caf54000 caf57000 caf57000 caf54000 Call Trace: [<d10b9b13>] do_xor_speed+0x42/0x90 [xor] 2) Ridiculously slow : 4 hours for a guest install of ~500mb. No identifiable host problem. I'm trying to do a network install and the instance running right now is doing less than 1 byte/sec according to "xm top". 3) Install crashes out at random points into install : > > Hmm, I had two installs running and they were so slow I left the office > > and on my return I find this : > > > > This guy was only at 23% complete : > > > > Traceback (most recent call last): File > > "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 1210, in ? > > > > handleException(dispatch, intf, sys.exc_info()) > > File > > "/usr/lib/anaconda/exception.py", line 380, in handleException > > win.run() > > > > File "/usr/lib/anaconda/text.py", line 154, in run > > self.text, self.buttons) > > File > > "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/snack.py", line 765, in > > ButtonChoiceWindow > > > > t = TextboxReflowed(width, text, maxHeight = screen.height - 12) > > File > > "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/snack.py", line 218, in __init__ > > > > (newtext, width, height) = reflow(text, width, flexDown, flexUp) > > File > > "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/snack.py", line 472, in reflow > > > > return _snack.reflow(text, width, flexDown, flexUp) > > > > TypeError: argument 1 must be string without null bytes, not str > > install exited > > abnormally > > > > sending termination signals...done > > > > sending kill signals...done > > > > > > > > > > > > And this from the other which was 72% complete : > > > > Traceback (most recent call last): > > File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 1210, in ? > > handleException(dispatch, intf, sys.exc_info()) > > File > > "/usr/lib/anaconda/exception.py", line 380, in handleException > > win.run() > > > > File "/usr/lib/anaconda/text.py", line 154, in run > > self.text, self.buttons) > > File > > "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/snack.py", line 765, in > > ButtonChoiceWindow > > > > t = TextboxReflowed(width, text, maxHeight = screen.height - 12) > > File > > "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/snack.py", line 218, in __init__ > > > > (newtext, width, height) = reflow(text, width, flexDown, flexUp) > > File > > "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/snack.py", line 472, in reflow > > > > return _snack.reflow(text, width, flexDown, flexUp) > > > > TypeError: argument 1 must be string without null bytes, not str > > install exited > > abnormally > > > > sending termination signals...done > > > > sending kill signals...done > > If I can get a "me too" I'll file bugzilla's, otherwise I'll keep testing. Any helpful ideas as to where I can look would be appreciated. -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list
