The ABI is not changing for i386 or x86_64, but is for ppc and ppc64.  
The only things affected are uses of "long double", which are not very
many.  If there are uses in random libraries (gnome or whatnot) then such
random packages may break on ppc/ppc64 between the time libraries are
rebuilt and the time their dependent packages are rebuilt.
