According to the changelog for gtk-sharp2, this has been fixed, and was fixed about a week or so ago:

- Fix vte build
Oh, and vte-sharp builds. I submitted the patch to the gnome bug report.

I shall remain in my fantasy world, in which I can develop using
MonoDevelop on my FC5 desktop, hopefully one day it will come true.

Oh and for people like me who are not on every single mailinglist, links
to such debates comes in very handy, if you're in a good mood please
include links in your mails. I assume you referer to the Red Hat
bugzilla as well, given the lack of a universial bugzilla like repo
(Malone maybe) it's sometimes hard to keep track of where certain bugs
actually went. Most unfortunate.

I was unaware that there were outstanding issues with dependencies for
MonoDevelop on Fedora.
