Use North American downhill skiing trail terminology:

Fedora test releases are the black diamond ski trails of the Fedora ski area.
Wikipedia says:

I do so very much like the phrase "may or may not be groomed" in that
definition.

Rawhide outside of a test release is clearly double black diamond if
not off trail.

Not a bad idea to call the test releases with such a name. Fedora Core 5 Black Diamond Release 3. I like the sound of it.
