Luckily the latest default wallpaper somewhat changes that appearance.
There is probably still room for improvement, but Diana Fong has done a
tremendous job in making the logo look a *lot* better.
If it's not too much trouble, could someone post these new logos on the
web somewhere for those of us not running a development or fc5test box?
