Right now the problem is that software that actually makes use of gstreamer 0.10 seems to be hard to come by. After giving up on Banshee I tried Rhythmbox HEAD which kinda works but not really. Playing a file doesn't work right away and I have to give the seekbar a little nudge to make it start playing. Unfortunately that's actually more than I get out of Rhythmbox with gstreamer 0.8 (see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=174917 ).

Yes, it would be cool to get that in but right now there would be very little gain for users running things "out of the box".
