Stopwatch. I just did it again, and it's just shy of 3s
(maybe 2.9s). And since people asked about HD, here are
some numbers:

[root@dimi ~]# hdparm -Tt /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 Timing cached reads:   3704 MB in  2.00 seconds = 1851.36 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  170 MB in  3.03 seconds =  56.17 MB/sec
