I think we need to make a choice and go with it. Encouraging multiple
solutions at this point will only dilute the focus, and confuse users. 

What do we need to do to pick something and go with it? It looks like
initng is 'close enough', how about approaching the developers and see
how willing they are to integrate D-BUS in it? What about Bill's 
suggestion? It looks like SystemManager does that, no?
