Last time we saw and fixed this issue was 4 years ago. At that time it was caused
by a progressbar getting to a conclusion that it is necessary to pad with
a negative number of space characters. It was an arithmetical mistake.

A reproducer is welcome because the mistake probably happens way far from
drawing the progressbar.

Yes, there was a lot of changes in the progressbar code between 5.2.8.1 and
5.2.9.0 versions.
