I’m member of the Fedora Docs board. The whatcanido page is one of the projects on my todo list for a long time. But I never had the time to bring it forward. But it is really a very interesting project and I’m eager o support any initiative to bring it forward. Conceptually it is interesting, too. It is part of the onboarding initiative. And in case, we could bring it forward, I would change the Docs landing page to use it effectively.

In Fedora Docs there are some other areas which are good opportunity for the class you have in mind. Among others
* small
- Various issues in the design of docs pages, needs someone with skills in CSS and HTML.
- Need for some additional formatting options, needs the same as above.
- For someone with interest in writing documentation, there are several opportunities, either to update (and maybe improve docs quality) existing documentation (e.g. quick Docs), or to develop new docs in a specific area (e.g Fedora Server or Fedora Administration Tools).

In these cases you have to fix issues in existing code, which can be done in the time frame of a month.

* projects requiring more time
- For the Quick Docs start page we need a new design and a new structure, which replaces the current fixed navigation column by dynamic category and tags centered structure. Needs a complete rewriting of the current Quick Docs start page. Needs skill in CSS, HTML and maybe Typescript/Javascript.
- For Fedora Server documentation we work on development of Ansible support for services. Would be an opportunity for someone with skill in programming and an interest in learning or working with Ansible. Each service is relative small so it is doable in a 1 - 2 months time frame. It requires the development of a complete new ‚playbook‘, but there templates to learn from.

And with a stronger connection to University, we have a scientificCMS project (https://scientificcms.org <http://scientificcms.org/>), which is Java, CSS, HTML, Typescript. But is rather complex and difficult to master in a short time frame of 1-3 months.

By the way, I’m a scientist at University of Bremen, doing research, development and teaching.

Best
Peter
