Sorry for the late response…

So… why not just drop it and convert all the packages?
'fedrq wrsrc python-pytest-runner | wc -l' says 54.
The runner has been deprecated for a while, and this hasn't caused
the upstreams or maitainers to switch. It's unlikely that another few
months of being deprecated in a very soft way will materially change
this number.

If it's not too complicated to switch, would you be able to open
pull requests for the 54 packages? I know it's more work, but also
it seems like deprecation will not materially change that, but
instead push the work a few months down the road.
