Wiki - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Deprecate_Zezere Discussion thread - This is a proposed Change for Fedora Linux. This document represents a proposed Change. As part of the Changes process, proposals are publicly announced in order to receive community feedback. This proposal will only be implemented if approved by the Fedora Engineering Steering Committee. == Summary == Deprecate use of the {{package|Zezere}}
This is expanded to https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/Zezere , what does not work. The initial `Z` should be likely lower case.
provisioning server, currently used to configure Fedora IoT devices. == Owner == * Name: [[User: pwhalen| Paul Whalen]] * Email: pwhalen@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx * Name: Fedora IoT SIG == Detailed Description == Currently, Fedora IoT users can add an SSH key to the root user account using the Zezere provisioning tool. While convenient for most use cases, users have given feedback that this does not work for all. In Fedora 42 we plan to deprecate the Zezere provisioning server in favour of offering a local means for user configuaration - `systemd-firstboot` - as well as the existing options of `FDO` or `ignition`.
Could you please elaborate what you mean by "deprecating"? My understanding is that you mark it deprecated following this guideline:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/deprecating-packages/#_marking_a_package_deprecated But maybe you considering retiring it entirely? Not sure. Thanks. Vít
