About cleaning Up Go SIG Membership

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi everyone,

At the last Go SIG meeting, we discussed the current membership of the SIG. There are 34 members, but some have been inactive for a while. Since being a member of the Go SIG grants commit access to many packages, we want to ensure that only active and interested maintainers remain in the group.

We propose the following process:

  1. Email all members asking them to confirm their status and interest.
  2. If no response is received within 15 days, send a follow-up.
  3. If there’s still no response after another 15 days, we’ll remove the user from the Go SIG group.

As you can see, the process is inspired by Fedora’s Inactive Packagers Policy

I’d like to hear your thoughts on this, or if anyone else has suggestions. The idea is not to kick people out, but to reduce the potential attacks.

Thanks!
