maybe it might be even more tricky. See this comment for information where keyboard shortcuts are stored in Mate:

I can't find much documentation, but how to properly override relocatable schema?

Let's say that after applying the override, there should be a nonempty output of this command:

gsettings  get org.mate.control-center.keybinding:/org/mate/desktop/keybindings/custom0/ action


How to write such an override please?

IIRC - the gschema namespace uses dots instead slashs (org.mate...)

(Yes, dconf backend uses slash ...)
