I believe this can be closed as it was already fixed in February. I've added context in the ticket and asked the assignee to proceed with closing.

and there is a claim in the report that upstream committed a fix.
If that is the case can this bug be closed as fixed?
If it's not fixed is it a serious bug that needs fixing?
