But there is also more flexibility in having those separate from what ships with the driver, for example, there are currently several issues affecting egl-wayland 1.1.14 and the latest driver and fixes are being posted to egl-wayland in github, with even an updated version 1.1.13.1 [2] to avoid issues with r560 and explicit sync with several Wayland apps apparently [3], [4], [5], [6]. etc.
Correct, as discussed with Neal who took the packages, I'm updating them to the latest snapshots which is what is included in driver 560.31.02. egl-gbm below the current snapshot makes Wayland not working with 560.
The libraries are still needed for the driver whether compiled from source or used in binary form. I'm working on the Nvidia packaging team since a few months, and we plan to keep using open source packages where possible for the CUDA repository. I'm pushing internally to use clearly defined tags in the driver for the open source components (egl-gbm, egl-wayland and soon also the source for the 2 new EGL libraries) as in the current state is absolutely not clear what's included in the runfile in compiled form.
The updates I just pushed will also be included in the official CUDA repository for RHEL 8/9, Fedora 39/40. Fedora 40 will come soon and NVCC will use the compatibility GCC package that we enabled with Red Hat. Plan is to support latest Fedora as well regardless of GCC version.
If the general consensus is that they should go from the Fedora repository we can then push them only the CUDA one, but as you said it might be handy to pull up quickly some fix here and there.
Cheers,
