Package guidelines - installing podman container service as unprivileged user/Quadlets

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I'm looking at packaging a couple of services that would be run via
podman. I'd like for them to run as an unprivileged user. I've come
across the concept of quadlets to use a systemd generator to create the
service. I haven't found anything in the packaging guidelines on them,
or handling a non-root user quadlet/service. Most guides online require
the un-privileged user to have the loginctl session linger so you need
to either ssh in as the user or use machinectl to get a shell to issue
the loginctl command etc.

Are there guidelines on packaging a service that would use a quadlets
or, services being run via podman as root and/or non-root users? The
only ones I've found relate to coreos and don't seem to be packaging
guidelines at all.

Sincerely,
