	Hi,
you are right, it's semi-automating a procedure required to make the
(NVIDIA) drivers work on a system with Secure Boot enabled. This
procedure has been required long before the proposed changes in
the gnome-software, by the akmods. The gnome-software only makes it
easier and moves everything into the GUI, instead of asking the users
to run several commands from a terminal to actually be able to use the
installed drivers.
