I added that check, and the same check in the place where symlinks were removed when package was uninstalled (/usr/sbin/foo should be removed only if it actually points to ../bin/foo). I also added one more scriptlet to do create symlinks, so now there's %filetriggerin -- /usr/bin %filetriggerpostun -- /usr/bin %filetriggerpostun -- /usr/sbin I did more testing and I think this now covers all cases of installs, upgrades, downgrades, and reinstalls.
