Isn't this handeled by the xscreensaver control-thing? But having it all
in one place would be a good idea, yes...

With gnome-screensaver install you do not have access to the
xscreensaver control-thing and xscreensaver is not running.  AFAIK this
is by design and you should not need to have both install along side
each other although you will be able too.  However something need to
take over the display power management. Currently there is nothing if
xscreensaver is removed.

Also, has anyone gotten gnome-power-management to "just work" on a
desktop machine? (x86_64)
