I thought reloc 43 (aka R_X86_64_CODE_4_GOTPCRELX) is a relocation for APX code (i.e. when an instruction uses %r16-%r31 registers and needs GOTPCREL), it surprises me a package in the distro would use it so quickly. In any case, ld.gold is an unmaintained linker for years, just use ld.bfd instead.
