I did R-xml2 and I see that spot just merged that change:

I could not find a mailing list or version control for R-XML, as I would suspect that someone has already prepared a fix, or at least discussed how to approach the issue (possibly in one of the newer released versions, although I could find no information about what had changed, unfortunately).
