Once there is such update created, you only can file a ticket against relengs (or infra) to delete the update. Without admins intervening, your only option is to bump a release and do new build. The old, stuck update will get superseded by the new update. To prevent from creating the updates, the only way, known to me, is building into a side tag and creating the update from the sidetag. Then you will be an owner of the update. -- Petr
