I'm wondering if there shouldn't be some impact assessment comparable to the "orphaned packages looking for new maintainer" mail.

Or will that happen with the next round of "orphaned packages ..."?

I think ordering the list of orphaned packages alphabetically would make it easier to pinpoint packages one may be interested in or depend on.
