From what I can tell in the spec file[1] for chromaprint, the only thing that's supposed to depend on ffmpeg is the tools package, but it seems to have found its way into libchromaprint[2] as well.
I'm trying to build a new version of codec2 with a soname change but I'm hitting this:

I'm guessing I don't have a choice but to do a bootstrap build of libchromaprint without ffmpeg first...
