I was trying to fix a couple of Paulo's packages, python-cypari2 and python-fpylll. They directly access ob_digit. My attempts to fix them seemed to be stymied by the Cython definition I mentioned, but maybe I just don't know what I'm doing. :-) If you have suggestions on how to approach the fixes for those two packages, I would be very grateful.
