Testing Release Upgrades via Discover

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

as many of you know, the Fedora KDE spin doesn't have the ability to upgrade
to a new stable release in a graphical manner and we always had to resort to
using DNF System Upgrade [1] to upgrade to the next stable release.

Thanks to the work done by aleasto [2] on this MR [3], discover upstream now
supports distribution upgrades via the PackageKitBackend.

The @kdesig has created a COPR repository [4] with a backport of the
aforementioned MR to the 5.27.X code.

We would like to ask for volunteers to test the release upgrade from Fedora 37
to Fedora 38 using Discover and we will welcome any feedback you may have.

I wrote a blog post [5] with instructions on how to proceed.

Looking forward to your comments here or on our matrix room [6]!
