Hello! I woudl like to -
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/NodejsRepackaging#Feedback -
add, that also java is using alternatives for major  versions of jdk
switching. Weahve master java - to switch runtime, and javac to switch
devel subpackages.
Man pages are also slaves to the  java/javac master so the always
corespond to the proper selected java.
I would heavily  recomend to use alternatives for this,a nd thus
remain aligned with other major runtimes.
One more reason to use alternatives might be theirs future - build
over overlayfs, an *userspace* version of alternatives is being..
discussed ( I would realy lke to say developed, but it seems it is
still ony on paper). Still the proof of concept already existed.
