The situation with really long license tags is not ideal but if it
is the most safe thing to do then I suppose it is the right thing to do.

I can only agree here.
For example, for many non-trivial Rust packages, just "listing what's
there" without doing some amount of simplification will result inLicense tags that are >100 characters long. I don't know if there's
any limit to the length of RPM headers, but if there is, we might hit
the limit with the "guidance" ...
That may be the case, but if something is that complicated in licensing.. not letting a downloader know about it is setting them and us up for problems. People have been boiling software together like licenses don't matter and mixing lots of things which may not be readily mixable. This makes the area ripe for submarine and similar nuisance lawsuits. It is our responsibility as packagers to be aware of this and try to make sure we are making smart choices for ourselves and our consumers.Fabio
