Listed where? It's not necessary to construct a dependency tree, it was
entirely possible to keep restarting the failures until nothing else built the
last time I run a Boost rebuild.


Yes, it's possible to just keep building, but it's faster and uses
fewer resources to build in dependency order. And the process can be
left unattended.

One or two missing dependencies can easily be dealt with afterwards,
rather than dozens of rebuilds being started in a loop until they
work.

If you want to use brute force for your rebuilds, go ahead, but that's
not the only way :-)

Sure, I just wanted to point out that if the dependency tree calculation is flawed, using brute force could have prevented this.

I'd take wasting machine resources over wasting people resources any day.
