It is already opt-in. Some packages switched to rpmautospec when it was introduced.

I've done this too for some of my packages and due to known issues reverted back to classic behavior due to the bogus auto-generated %changelog.

If anyone wants to debug, feel free to check out the aircrack-ng package.
