When will this silliness ever stop? It just does not make sense to 
explicitly list every single file in the RPM. Wildcards are often the only 
reasonable way.

It is already enough of a PITA that we are now forced to explicitly maintain 
the soname for libraries in our specfiles. (I have always been opposed to 
that. Soversions are the main thing for which I used to *always* use a 
wildcard.)
