I'm sympathetic to your "we shouldn't block people from maintaining things if they want to" argument, but I have to disagree here. There's only so much time that the community can collectively devote to Fedora and this is not a place I'd like us to spend it. If someone really wants to maintain a package that upstream has moved on from, then good for them. But it's better for us to help other upstreams that depend on this old version to use the newer library, whether that's by direct contribution or peer pressure. -- Ben Cotton He / Him / His Fedora Program Manager Red Hat TZ=America/Indiana/Indianapolis _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to devel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam on the list, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure
