-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Havoc Pennington's entry on his blog (aggregated at p.g.o and other places) entitled "finished software" led me to think about metacity again for the first time in a while. Metacity is admirably stable as a tool; it's one part of my desktop that never calls attention to itself with problems, glaring features, or distractions. I never think about it, rarely have to refer to it, and hear few questions about it. Yeah, if there were some piece of software in the desktop that I could regard as in "maintenance mode", metacity would be it. But the topic got me to thinking about where room for improvement lay, but rather than filing a bug, I wanted to ask for the general opinion on one thing: Does the "best-fit" window placement algorithm annoy anyone else ? After I open a couple of windows and all the vacant real-estate is gone, all the rest proceed to overlap one another almost as perfectly as possible all the way up in the top-left corner. Placing windows perfectly atop one another seems broken. What's the logic ? Is this an area for improvement/development ? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFCzCqNglUG+5Qgd5MRApkyAJ0ZSdGMNd5H3AsWyCOhRRqNlYiwcgCfQnF9 i2ZVIXt1+1r3ajxsa6b/xCo= =Own9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list
