and when I manually run "wireplumber" it shows:
Default Sink: alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo
Default Source: alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo
and the devices appear in KDE and I can play a sound.
I has the same issue (KDE and all), and fixed it with `systemctl --user
enable --now wireplumber` and haven't had any issues since, though I
assume that I've therefor switched over to fully use wireplumber; I
don't know if that's the right answer for your usecase.
