jq issue with integer handling logic

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

the jq package currently has an unfortunate issue with handling large
integers:

$ echo '{"a":9011153322235679}' | jq '.a'
9011153322235680

I reported this in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008979
a while ago and put up a PR at
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/jq/pull-request/4 to fix it. I think
it'd be nice to get this merged and built before Fedora 35 releases if
possible. For reference, the equivalent PR has already been merged in
CentOS Stream 9
(https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/rpms/jq/-/merge_requests/1).

Cheers
Davide
