Hello,
New releases of rpkg and fedpkg are now in testing [1]. There are many
improvements included, of which I would like to point out "Add config
option for writing dist-git build results to a subdirectory" [2] because
it is not enabled by default, at least not yet.
The new feature is enabled by setting "results_dir = subdir" in fedpkg
config. After that is done, fedpkg sets 'rpm' command's builddir,
srcrpmdir and rpmdir to 'results' instead of the default repository
root. So if find it annoying how fedpkg writes it output files directly
to repository root, now there is way to do less of that. Output of
'fedpkg mockbuild', which does not invoke 'rpm' directly, is not affected.
Unfortunately, sources are still downloaded to repository root. There
was some hurdle I cannot quite remember anymore that prevented using
'results' as sourcedir as well.
