Technically, when presented with two mutually exclusive options A and B, saying "A is a better option, because it avoids option B" does not feel like a fair argument.
Disclaimer: I am not writing this email to discuss once again whether %ifs or branches are better (we disagree on that one and we both know it) nor to discuss which option should be the recommended one (I think we cannot have that discussion before we see eln branches working). I just wanted to point out the problem in the statement.
