As I said, the machine has an ssd. But it has a very large number of packages. It's used for development so has lots of devel pkgs, and a large selection of the live.

Do you have a huge number of packages? Lot's of modules? A very slow disk?

(*) I was upgrading a rpi3 recently, and I had to wait a few minutes...
But on a beefy machine, anything above a few dozen seconds is suspicious.
