As feedback on this was mostly positive, I went ahead and did the work.
The PR for the Greenwave policy has been merged already, as that does
not in itself cause any actual behaviour change:
https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/ansible/pull-request/349
The PR for Bodhi is here:
https://github.com/fedora-infra/bodhi/pull/4180
merging that *would* cause the proposal to be implemented, and start
gating updates. Please yell if you think this isn't ready yet and you
didn't yell already, or you see any issues in the practical
implementation. Thanks!
Shouldn't such a policy change go through a FESCo vote first?
(I guess they will just wave it through, sadly, but still, I think it ought
to go through a democratic vote.)
Or even a change proposal ;)
Honestly, I don't really know. To me it doesn't really fit the Change
process. If you'd like to have FESCo vote on it I can file a ticket for
sure.
We've had Changes in the past that really were not coupled with any Fedora
releases but rather affected the way we build/ship/test stuff. IMHO it is the
best way to raise awareness and collect more feedback. But I don't "insist", it
was merely a suggestion.
