I'm not quite following why you want to retire ilmbase ? Is the
openexr package enough ?
Ever since 2.4.0, ilmbase (and others) are included in the openexr releases.
I don't get the reason why you mention that library names are
unrelated to the package name ? That's two separate things.
Of course, there's no technical reason that's a problem, but I would say it's a bit odd. It was more a comment as to why I believe it makes sense to combine the separate projected into one.
