Request for advice on KiCAD appdata

There is a bug report [1] that KiCAD doesn't show up in the GNOME Software or KDE Discover managers. I ran desktop-file-validate on the kicad.desktop file and got a hint that there is no registered main category.

I'll try adding "Science" to the category list, but I'm unclear on how this data gets into the package manager before the package has even been installed.

Is this something that happens during a compose? How can I test to see if my change is effective?

	Steve
