As I have already mentioned more than once when the FTBFS policy has been discussed, a failure to build from source is not necessarily a fatal bug. If the package has no broken dependencies and needs no changes, there is no actual need to rebuild the package. Hence, I find it unfair to call packages "not really maintained" just because a FTBFS was not fixed immediately. (Even the policy allows for 6+ months to fix FTBFS bugs.) I prefer spending my time on making actual user-visible improvements to my packages rather than on fixing yet another mass FTBFS caused by a rude incompatible change done in some other package.
