You are not alone. I had to set the same alias for Fedora CoreOS because I kept typing vim out of habit and FCOS ships vim-minimal. It was driving me nuts.

Maybe the vim-minimal package needs the alias instead? I have been adding the alias on my end because it felt like a personal problem on my end, but I am sure there are more of us.
