Network Manager can be configured to use an external resolv.conf
generator for example by adding a new config file
/etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/99-resolved.conf:

[main]
dns=systemd-resolved

After adding this option you don't need to make /etc/resolv.conf a
symbolic link to /run/NetworkManager/resolv.conf.
